Taking part in an event for a charity often makes people feel more involved, and it can be great fun and a great fundraiser too! There are all sorts of things you could do, and
if there isn't already an event that appeals to you then you could always arrange your own. Please contact us if you have any ideas and we'll do what we can to support you.

Sponsored Events

There are lots of pre-arranged events around the country which participants can use to raise funds for a charity of their choice. Many of these are sporting events - one of the largest and best known of which is the London Marathon. There are, however, many smaller and less demanding events for the 'occasional' sportsman or woman! Details of events in particular areas of the country can often be found either by searching on the internet or in the local press. If you have the appropriate contacts, you might want to consider arranging your own local sporting challenge as a fundraiser.

Don't forget that in addition to sporting events sponsorship can also be raised for all sorts of other activities including shaving off your hair, washing cars, shoe shining, pancake tossing, juggling and tap dancing!

We have partnered with an organization called SmartGive to make it very easy for you to raise sponsorship and collect donations online, securely and quickly. You simply need to enter your details and some information about your chosen event, then send an email to your contacts and encourage them to support you through your customized sponsorship webpage. All the rest is handled online, with the donations coming directly to Jabez. It really is that simple! For the really adventurous of you, we are considering the possibility of organising some major sponsored challenges in the future - for example walking part of the Great Wall of China, or perhaps canoeing on the Zambezi, or maybe even climbing Kilimanjaro!
